NEW YORK (July 5, 2007) -- Anúna, the truly unique musical group comprised of
16 world-class singers, announces the release of its brand new CD “Celtic Origins.” The CD will be available starting
July 17, 2007, exclusively at Borders retail locations nationwide and through Public Television’s August/September Pledge
Drive efforts throughout the United States.
Additionally, a companion DVD will be available exclusively – beginning in August – through more than 200 Public
Television stations across the country during the August/September Pledge Drive.
Bridging the gap between classical and popular music, Anúna has an extraordinary sound all its own. The music is pulsating,
hair-raising, emotive, mystical and unusual -- part classical, part folk, part world, part Celtic. The group’s performance
spans over 1,000 years of music history while showcasing a unique and beautiful vocal sound.
The “Celtic Origins” CD boasts 19 songs and includes music written and composed by Anúna creator and founder
Michael McGlynn as well as special arrangements of traditional songs including: “Greensleeves,” “Scarborough
Fair,” “I Dreamt I Dwelt In Marble Halls” and “Our Wedding Day.” The CD closes in tribute to the
late American folk singer/songwriter John Denver with a very special duet version of Denver’s chart-topping hit, “Annie’s
Song” performed by Michael McGlynn and his twin brother John, Anúna’s director.
The DVD, available through Public Television only, features 24 songs and includes special features and bonus material.
Both the CD and DVD release support the group’s U.S. television debut as a featured act in an emotional and spectacular
Public Television concert special – “Celtic Origins” – set to air on more than 200 stations nationwide
starting in August.
Additionally, the group will tour North America in support of the Public Television special, CD and DVD. The concert tour, kicking
off in Columbus, Ohio on October 3, will bring Anúna to more than 40 cities including New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston,
San Francisco, Denver, Detroit, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Nashville, Knoxville, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh,
Indianapolis, Toronto, Atlanta, Phoenix and others.
